you realize they don’t quite reflect how you experienced those moments.
The sunset is missing its magic, and the crystal-blue water suddenly looks rather dull and grey.
The good news is that it often only takes small adjustments to turn an image from average into something truly striking.
This workshop is for anyone who wants to take better travel photos and create more atmospheric images —
whether you use a smartphone, a compact camera, or a DSLR.
I focus on practical photography with minimal theory, so you learn while shooting. Together, we explore Agadir through inspiring
photo sessions in the city, combined with two fantastic excursions where you’ll discover new subjects and develop your photographic eye.
As with all my workshops, the number of participants is limited,
ensuring close guidance, personal feedback, and maximum value for everyone.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Why join?
This workshop is all about learning to see your travel experiences with fresh eyes. We’ll explore how to photograph from new—and sometimes unfamiliar—angles, and how to use light creatively to add mood and depth to your images.
Often, it’s the small details that turn an ordinary photo into a great one. It might be your choice of angle, the use of light or backlight, shadows, foreground elements—or something entirely different. Through hands-on practice, we’ll work on finding compositions and solutions that enhance the value of your images, both for yourself and for those who view them.
There will be some theory during the workshop, but it will be kept to a minimum. At the same time, there will always be opportunities to ask both technical and theoretical questions throughout the days.
My goal is for you to return home with a camera full of images you’re proud to share, a mind full of great experiences, and renewed inspiration to create stronger and more engaging photos—both on future trips and in everyday life. You’ll learn to “see” your surroundings in new ways and become more confident in capturing and conveying mood and impressions through your photography.
Why Agadir?
Agadir is a vibrant and exciting city with easy access to many excellent excursion destinations.
The beach serves as a natural meeting point for many of our activities. Here you’ll find great cafés and restaurants, a lively local atmosphere, and plenty of small stalls offering unique photographic opportunities.
The city is a popular destination for both Moroccans and visitors from other North African countries, providing a rich variety of people, scenes, and moments to capture.
Agadir also has a well-connected international airport with convenient flights to and from Europe, making travel easy and accessible.
Day by day
Programme
Day one:
14:00-18:00
Meet and greet. For us all to get to know each other, and for the tutor to "feel" you.
Day three:
1/2 day tour - time depends on the tour.
Today we will visit "Paradise Valley" - A small paradise in the mountains over Agadir.
"Paradise Valley near Agadir is a scenic river gorge in the High Atlas Mountains famous for its counterculture roots and natural rock pools. Local lore credits its iconic naming to rock musician Jimi Hendrix and European free spirits during the 1960s!
Day two:
Full day tour - time depends on the tour.
We have our first "OUTING", a typical tour that you will get on on a package holiday. We will vist the picturesque fisher town of Essaouira.
It is possible to meet in the evening at the beach to take some evening and night photos.
Day four:
10:00-14:00
Day 4 is a day for recap of what we have been doing at the workshop. We do that by a pleasant "walk by the beach", talking about composition, exposure, and , of course, find even more motifs. We might stop by a local café and get a local Mint Tea.
Day five: Add ON
For those interested, I will suggest an extra day with an other tour - There are many beautiful and interesting places around Agadir. The tour will go to where most participant wants.

The price includes the workshop and local transportation during the workshop.
Travel to/from Agadir and accommodation are not included.

What to bring
Fot the course you will need to bring a camera. If you have a fancy DSLR, a standard compact camera og "just" uses your phone, any of those will do. For those with "fancy" cameras, there, of course will be more in-depth tutoring abt. shitterspeed, aperture and so on, but composition and "seeing" the motif - is the same for all cameras.
For the (D)SLR people I would usually recommend a standard zoom and a tripod for evening shots.

Transport
For most of you, he most convenient way to reach Agadir is by plane.
From the airport you will want to take a taxi (Grand Taxi).
Most taxidrivers do NOT take card, so be sure to take out some local money (Moroccan Dinars) at the airport.
It is a good idea to agree the price with the driver BEFORE your ride.

As is well known, the weather can be difficult to predict, but generally I have had good experiences.

- I usually uses hotels.com or AirBnB - to be honest I have no experience with AirBnB in Morocco
The tours:
Essaouira
Essaouira is a fantastic coastal town with hundreds of years of history. We will visit the harbor, where life buzzes on and around both small and large fishing boats.
There will, of course, also be time to explore the Kasbah, offering endless opportunities for capturing unique and compelling images.
Paradise Valley
About 60 km north of Agadir, we find this hidden gem of a local village.
With its red clay buildings, the town creates a perfect backdrop for both travel photos and for those who want to take their photography a step further.
In Paradise Valley, you’ll also have great opportunities to buy local products, such as honey, sold in small stalls and shops.
Taroudant (extra)
Taroudant, located in the Souss Valley, is surrounded by impressive terracotta walls that offer a rich sense of history and atmosphere.
Here, you’ll experience remarkable fortifications as well as vibrant and fascinating souks filled with life, colors, and unique photographic opportunities.
Taghazout(extra)
Morocco’s main surfing hotspot, Taghazout is all about the ocean, waves, and sandy beaches. The beach is especially popular with Moroccan tourists during the summer months, while surfing is a year-round activity. The town itself is small, relaxed, and laid-back, with a calm atmosphere perfect for unwinding and capturing authentic coastal
Tafraoute(extra)
Set in a breathtaking mountain landscape of pink and orange rock formations, Tafraoute is a central Moroccan mountain village and a haven for hikers, climbers, and nature lovers. Located about 166 kilometers southeast of Agadir, this peaceful destination is incredibly photogenic, with vast mountain scenery that never fails to impress.
A visit here offers a wonderful contrast to the busy atmosphere of Agadir, allowing you to capture the essence of rural Moroccan life in a calm and authentic setting.
Tiznit(extra)
Tiznit is one of the best places in Morocco to buy traditional Berber jewelry. The town lies at the edge of the Anti-Atlas mountain range, about 97 kilometers south of Agadir, and is surrounded by impressive fortifications built in the 19th century.
Within the city walls, you’ll find the old medina—a maze of narrow streets filled with souks offering Tiznit’s famous silver jewelry, as well as a wide range of other local handicrafts.
As there are more participants, the tour will go to the site with the most "wishes" in the sign-up form

I have been photographing since I was six years old, and over a lifetime behind the camera I have developed extensive experience across a wide range of photographic disciplines. After several years working at Japan Photo in Norway, I recognized a clear need for a more practical and accessible approach to teaching photography. This insight became the foundation for the courses and workshops I lead today. My motto is: “Photography is not learned in a classroom.” With this as a guiding principle, most of the teaching takes place out in the field, where we work hands-on with the camera. Here, we focus on practical details, ask questions, and learn from each other in real situations. A key part of my teaching is helping participants develop the ability to truly “see” their subjects—whether it’s choosing the right angle, understanding light and exposure, or identifying the perfect moment to capture an image. My workshops also allow time for meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and the occasional coffee break along the way. I place strong emphasis on personal guidance, ensuring that each participant receives tailored support—whether you shoot with a smartphone or advanced camera equipment. My photographic style is broad and diverse, ranging from urban and landscape photography to wildlife, village life in India, urban decay, and artistic nude photography.
